“Dissolving Your Earplugs” is a total installation that takes you INSIDE THE PIANO and the result of the “collective action” of the workshop participants. By reassembling the parts of the piano and detaching listening from its tendency to fixate on sounds and sources, the participants under guidance of musicians Simone Keller, Philip Bartels and a piano tuner and musician Oksana Slipchenko created new objects and musical instruments with new functions and sounding. The process of deconstruction was reminiscent of a game or a child’s desire to find out what is inside a favourite toy, looking for “actions” that make us all sound together.
