The idea of the workshop was the collective, guided process of meticulously dismantling a piano into its 10,000 individual parts. This transformative act is not one of violence, but rather a profound exploration, akin to peering through the black and white keys into the hidden inner workings of the bulky instrument. This act became a metaphorical journey that not only deconstructed the physical structure of the piano, but also challenged preconceived notions of cultural symbols and invited contemplation on the evolving meaning of such emblems in our ever-changing world. The piano has been transformed into a canvas for collaborative exploration, encouraging participants to collectively redefine and appreciate the multiple layers of cultural and musical heritage, sound and communication.
